  i bring this up because like me i sure many of the men who was kids in the wt cult got their first taste of what a nude women looked like.

  it was the adolescent male sex education for most of us.

  one friend i had who's dad was a elder told me they always had playboys in his house because his dad subscribed to them.

  Thank you flipper I could not say it any better. I remember back in 1971 at the D.C. they had a big part on masturbation and how bad it was. I was 17 at the time and had no idea what masturbation was even though I was doing it. My parents never said anything about it to me so all was still the same about sex don't say don't tell. Lol. You may ask why I didn't know what that word was it was because I only knew it by the slang term that was used in my youth.

  Another reason I feel how this cult hurts people is how they expose children who are to young to such information. In early 1973 I was 18 years old my mom and I went to the ministry school and service meeting that night without my dad. He was sick with the flu. During the service meeting a talk was given on the evils of oral copulations. I then knew what both those words meant. On our way home from the meeting my mom ask me what that talk was all about. So here I am 18 years old explaining what oral sex was to my 50 year old mother. These are things no one should have to do. Lol. Just like all religion they make sex dirty so they can control others.   Thank you 1010, that is the kind of comments I was looking for. I agree with all you said. The idea I was trying to bring out does the cult messed us up all of us sexually or is this common everywhere in religion. True all ii do understand is being a male not gay, not a women and not having a major disability. If I am guilty of anything, I a am just trying to understand and learn a little more.

  I think what I am looking for is how did the cult effect you men who grew up in it. Did it hurt you as a man? Did it make you think more about sex than is normal or did make you feel guilty? I know other religions have messed up people sexually but to me and I may be wrong this cult seems to hurt people more in these matters. Your opinions please. Still Totally ADD

  Of course there was a lot of guilt on my behalf enjoying these maz. It wasn't for the article's it was for the pictures. That was about all the sex education I got. Except for all the service meetings condemning adultery, fornications, oral sex and let's not forget fantasizing sexual things. With that I was totally condemned. I was going to die at Armageddon no matter how good I was. Yes the WT cult is highly skilled in using guilt especially sexual guilt.

  With all this said i feel the emasculating of male's who were raised in this cult have suffered sexual repression. I cannot tell you how many adult men I gave counsel to as an elder on sexual matters. I remember one poor guy who was married for just a year was so guilt-ridden he found it very hard to have sex with his wife. Very sad. I guess the thought I am trying to bring out is am I correct on this assumption or am I blowing smoke? The cult is very unhealthy in so many ways why would it not be in this case? This is my observation what are yours. Still Totally ADD

  A Little Direction Please

  i'm an active elder, cobe, just got home from the meeting where i handled the treasures part and concluded by announcing a friend of mine has been d/f,.....blah blah blah...and over the last year have woken up.

  i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.

  i have zero desire to bash, spread my feelings, or become an "apostate".

  Welcome Brain J. It was 2009 my father had just died. My mother was suffering with dementia and becoming very hard to handle. Feb. of that year I went to KM school at Patterson for PO,s. With all this going on I was waking up about what I was seeing. So here I was a born-in, almost 25 years as a elder and PO for 3 years. I was a nervous wreck not knowing what to do. What help me the most was coming to this site and reading what others did to fade and help their mates to fade with them.

  I can't add to the advice everyone here gave you. It is all sound advice. Just take it slow. The idea given to you to study with your family by putting in thinking critical thinking will help you. But very little pieces at a time. Also in a very methodical way work at stepping down from being the COBE then let some time go by then step down as a elder. For me it took 2 years to do this. By gong slowly this will take a lot of the focus off of you.

  Everyone experience is different but similar. Use what will work for you and your family. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy and take care of your mental and emotional health. Always try to have a positive attitude on what you are doing. I won't lie to you, it is hard but will worth it. Take care and best wishes for you and your family. Still Totally ADD

  The you for the report my dear Anderson's. This was all done on the backs of free labor. Yes I know they got room and board. The Chinese, India, and Japan at one time in the past consider labor had no value. Only the higher ups became prosperous. I believe this might be the WT thinking. As soon as those countries turned things around and started to pay for labor a large part of the countries began to prosper. The WT is still behind times thinking labor is not worth anything.   this thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.

  i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.

  Good for you P.E. I did the same thing when I left the Borg almost 7 years ago. I also watch a program on donating your whole body. It can be used for medical student's or they can use it to study dead bodies as they rot during a crime scene.

  Only problem I can see in all this I plan to live to be 100. LOL. I guess they could use me to rot after a made up crime. Take care and live a long life. Still Totally ADD

  heart attack 2nd anniversary.

  hi lovely folk,.

  two years ago today i had a ha.. i have just re-read the kind words of support from you folks wherever on earth you be and they are still warming to me.. i have had a bypass op done re-hab and learned to live again.. i am on permanent meds and do lots of walking.

  since the op i have walked 545 kilometres and worn out a pr of boots.. i walk with walking poles and they mean you take in 25% more o2 than without.

  born in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.

  hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.

  he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

  Only thing I can think of is he is 1 year younger than I am. I say that because when I was a kid many of the older ones in the KH would tell me I should not even be there. Young people were not welcome. Also lead to believe anyone in my age group could never be part of the anointed. Remember all the way up to 2009 WT taught the number for the anointed was sealed back in 1935. With that said the only good thing I see is he did was take care of his wife when she was dying.

  Since I don't think anyone of the GB are anything special. Why not marry someone younger? They are both consenting adults. It just shows he is just a human and nothing more. Still Totally ADD

  can you still record the talks at assemblies?

  years ago my parents would record these talks and play them back all the time.

  when they both died, we cleaned out the house and found 50 plus cassette tapes of recorded talks and they were labeled the year and the speaker at the time.

  that was in the year 2000. we just gave them to there jw friends because i did not want to keep them for recording of music.

  I remember back in the 1970's to I think 1990 you would see a table setup for the friends to record the programs. The table would be in front of a speaker and out of the way so there was no blocking the view of the friends. Then in the mid 1990's video cameras started poping up. None of it was very good quality.
